Boy oh boy, I have been so damn busy lately! Between the club & my graphic design business, I think I’ve been getting about 4 hours of sleep a day! UGH! I guess I can’t really complain, at least my business is slowly increasing. Thank God for this Sunday! I can’t wait to go hang out with Rob & the guys out at The Mixx! If you’ve never been, you should stop on out & visit us! Nice and relaxed atmosphere, pretty good price on beers & the fun of chit-chatting with all of us “girls”. Not to mention the soulful sounds of Rob singing. Geez…as much as I talk about Rob, you’d think he and I were together or something. LOL! We’re not though, just great friends.

I took off Friday the 15th. It’ll be nice to have a weekend night off (the girls at work hate me for doing it). But what to do…what to do? Gonna have to get a hold of the guys & see what everyone is doing. June is Pride month, and I’d like to check that out (whatever city its being held in this week). We’ll see.

Time to get some sleep. Everyone have a great weekend!

I don’t know about you, but I’m a HUGE Fergie fan! Love her, love her, love her! Being that I created & maintain the Shooters of Saginaw website, I thought I’d share this bit of info, before I put it on their site (which I’m doing right after I write this). Maybe i’m just too picky. Maybe I let too many little things get to me. Or maybe I have some sort of OCD. I don’t know. Maybe you can decide. Here’s the situation…I started training this guy at work to be a DJ (mind you I was given the choice of two people, I really don’t care for either of them, so I chose the better of the two evils). I went through the whole process of showing him everything he needed to do. Then I let him run the show for a bit. In my opinion, the best way to learn is hands on (at least it is for me).

So, he returns again tonight for more “training”. Basically, I just throw him into the booth & see how he does, sink or swim. Question after question. I wouldn’t have minded so much, except for the fact that after I answered the question, he would respond back with another question! Scenerio…

Q: What does this girl dance to?

A: She likes Rock & Techno.

Q: Techno….I don’t know any techno? What rock does she like?

A: She likes “Ladies And Gentlemen” by Saliva.

Q: How come it won’t come up when I search for it (he spells it “Ladys & Gentalman”)

A: Because you spelled it wrong, ladies is NOT spelled l-a-d-y-s & gentlemen is NOT spelled g-e-n-t-a-l-m-a-n!

This happened quite frequently. I eventually got to my breaking point & left the area. Let him struggle. That’s the only way he’ll learn.

Now maybe I’m just too “anal”, but anyone with an elementary school education should know how to spell “ladies” and “gentlemen” right?

Other things that annoyed me about the whole ordeal…

His voice is terrible! He sounds almost robotic. AND he says the same thing every fucking time! “Put your hands together for (insert name here)”

He can’t multi-task! I mean Jesus! There’s 3 computers & a mixing board, how hard can this be?!

He thinks he’s hot shit! I’m fine with confidence, but when you’re in the process of being trained for a position you know literally NOTHING about, it’s not the best time to show your ego! Come on!

Here’s the most irratating one…he has really NO knowledge of music. How are you supposed to be a DJ & not know artists and/or song names?! WTF! Why in the hell is this guy being trained for a DJ position?

Well…it turns out that he isn’t trusted on any of the registers anymore! Theft? I’m not sure. If it is, why would you even keep him around? And to make things even MORE irratating, he was supposedly promised by the GM that he would get a minimum of 4 days a week. They don’t want him on any of the registers, therefore I’m supposed to give him 4 DJ shifts? Not gonna happen! I have too many guys that are more experienced & have more knowledge of the position than him. And I sure as hell am not going to give him my shifts! Fuck all that!

This place just gets under my skin way too easily. Too many stupid mistakes made by too many stupid people. Unfortunately, its a business that will always make money! And it will always pay me just enough to not be able to find another job that can compare in salary.

I apologize for all the ranting…but I had to get it out. Thanks for understanding.

So, after looking at my friend Rob’s WordPress blog, I’ve decided that I should create one for myself (thanks Rob, got me addicted to yet another online tool). Looking at Rob’s blog, I see that he gets a lot of responses & has made a lot of new friends by doing so. Seems it could be somewhat therapeutic, get things off my mind & get a reaction from new found friends. I’ll try & keep up to date on things, hopefully gaining a following of great people.
